Situated on the rugged California coast, Bixby Bridge celebrates the combination of architecture and the natural world. It is quite rare that such a union is actually successful. If we’re being honest, humans have a knack for building gaudy eye-sores which quite often ruin the natural beauty of a place. Yet thankfully, in this case, the bridge makes an elegant contribution to its natural surroundings. At sunset, Bixby glows with a soft yellow hue that matches the shimmering horizon, golden beaches and rolling hills.
