EYSTRAHORN BEACH
Eastern Shore | Iceland
THE STORY. . .
Travel to the eastern most tip of Iceland and you will find yourself beneath the snaggle-toothed mountains of Eystrahorn. The vibrant stripe of crimson lining the volcanic beach is actually a large colony of kelp which was washed ashore with the previous high tide. These mountains are typically shrouded in clouds, which means that getting to see the peaks is quite a treat. Aside from a few little bits of grass and moss, not much is alive out this far. All the same, this desolate landscape has a unique beauty unto its own.
