VIKING CAIRNS WATERFALL

Southern Iceland

THE STORY. . .

Legend has it that the vikings used to stack towers of rocks to ward off bad luck, evil spirits, and even trolls. Okay, not one iota of that sentence is true. In reality, the vikings built ships, sacked cities, stole loot, and apparently dropped off large, orange tabby cats wherever they went. As for the rock towers, that was just me. The sapphire pool of this waterfall was filled with plump, round river stones which were simply too enticing to ignore. After a few hours of work, this little gravity experiment was complete and the new image came together nicely. Unfortunately, later that evening, everything was knocked over by a passing troll.
